About The Teacher

Ustadha Shazia discovered her love for Tajweed many years ago after realising the deep peace and reward that come from learning, reciting, and teaching the Qur’an.

Her journey began with studying Tajweed in depth, followed by advanced training and multiple Ijazat (traditional Qur’anic teaching certifications) in Tajweed, Recitation, and Qira’at from her teachers. Over the years, she has spent nearly a decade helping women refine their recitation and strengthen their connection with the Qur’an.

Her goal is to make Tajweed accessible, enjoyable, and spiritually uplifting for women of all ages — especially non-Arabic, English-speaking learners who may feel hesitant or unsure where to begin. Through a kind and structured approach that combines theory and Talaqqi (live correction), she guides her students toward clarity, confidence, and heartfelt recitation, in shaa Allah.

Her students describe her teaching as patient, encouraging, and deeply motivating — a reflection of her belief that “it’s never too late to learn the Qur’an”
